Area guide

Manson, WA

The small orchard town that's home to Wapato Point Resort, with tasting rooms, coffee shops, a public beach, and a farmers market, all within a mile of the resort gates.

The town

Manson (population ~1,200) sits on a gentle rise above Manson Bay, about 8 miles north of the city of Chelan. It's an orchard community (apples, cherries, and peaches) that has gradually added wine tourism to its identity. The hills above town are increasingly lined with vineyards.

The town is small and relaxed. There's no stoplight. But there are excellent tasting rooms, a decent grocery store, a couple of coffee spots, and a farmers market on summer Saturdays. For a week at Wapato Point, Manson is where you'll spend most of your time off-resort.

Food & coffee

Blueberry Hills Farm

Famous for U-pick blueberries and homemade baked goods. The pies and preserves are worth the trip alone. Seasonal.

Manson's Landing Pub & Grill

The go-to for casual dining in Manson. Good burgers, pizza, and a solid beer selection. Lively on weekends.

Local coffee shops

A handful of seasonal coffee spots around town. Ask around for what's currently open, as the scene changes year to year.

Manson Market

Small grocery store that carries the essentials: produce, meat, wine, beer, and basic supplies. Good enough for a week if you stock up on arrival.

Wineries in Manson

Several excellent tasting rooms are within walking distance or a short drive from Wapato Point. Highlights include Wapato Point Cellars (on-resort), La Garza Cellars, Navarre Coulee Vineyards, Hard Row to Hoe, and Amos Rome Vineyards.

Manson Bay Park

A free public beach and park on Manson Bay, about a mile from Wapato Point. Has a small dock, grass area, and parking. Good for an afternoon swim if the resort beach feels crowded, or for watching the sunset over the water.

Manson Farmers Market

Held on Saturday mornings in the summer months, the Manson Farmers Market features local produce, preserves, baked goods, and crafts. Worth a visit for fresh cherries and peaches in July. The orchards around town are world-class. Check local listings for the current season schedule.

From Manson to Chelan

The city of Chelan is about 25 minutes south via Highway 150. Chelan has more restaurants, a larger grocery store, and the ferry terminal for the Lady of the Lake to Stehekin. Most visitors to Wapato Point make at least one or two trips to Chelan during the week.
